A fun, thrilling, magical read!

This book is a wild and wonderful ride through the back roads of America, packed with folklore, banter, romance, and mystical beasts. I love the dynamic between Stella and the brothers, and enjoyed every bit of their journey. Perfect for fans of Supernatural, enemies to lovers, and found family stories, I enthusiastically recommend this to anyone who likes their road trips with a side of magic.

Fantastic urban fantasy!

This is a fantastic addition to the urban fantasy genre. The monsters and mythology are amazing, the plot is breakneck and satisfying, and Stella, the main character, is a breath of fresh air, a strong dynamic heroine who can heal as well as she can fight. Read this book!

Best effing road trip ever!

I love the fact that Bad Company isn’t the PI/detective/crime fighter/bounty hunter along with the hot side kick—okay Cole is pretty hot, but that’s not the point. I love to read UF books like this.

Stella was a tracker, someone that used to hunt down monsters, demons, ghosts, and magical creatures, but she decided her talents were better served at healing and became a doctor. But she had to go on the run with the two brothers she hates the most. I don’t want to give anything away so let’s just say their families hate each other.
I got a lot of laughs and squeals during Stella’s, Cole’s and Mikey’s road trip as they ran from the evil that was trying to kill the three of them. Stella has a ton more common sense and more patience than me when they keep her in the dark and go do some B&E—ing. Jeez! She gets them out of some tough spots and if they’d (ahem: Cole) only listened to her reasonable alternatives!

Even if they don’t accept it, Stella is a badass, and she’s not a dude, like Cole keeps calling her. They think they have to protect her and dammit, she can take care of herself. But it’s always good to have a team and if they’d accept that and trust her with the plan, maybe things would have gone smoother. But they had their reasons. And we wouldn’t have this awesome story!

Magical creatures galore, not just the normal weres, vampires, and witches. Nope. Way more creative. A vast world that Corddry created that has so much more to say. I can see a lot of stories coming out of this world. I’m excited to read the second and third one. Thank you, Jill Corddry for this great book that deserves many reviews and loyal readers.
